Founded in 2013 by Ashley Burnell and Graham Todd, Urban Window Films Inc. has built a reputation for excellence in the window film industry. In 2017, Ashley became the sole owner, bringing with him a wealth of experience gained from his background in window cleaning. Many of the skills he developed as a professional window cleaner proved invaluable when transitioning into the window film application business.

How long does it take to apply window film?
The majority of window film installations are completed within the same day. However, for larger projects or installations with specialized needs, the process may extend over multiple days. We strive to complete the work efficiently while ensuring the highest level of craftsmanship.
Does window film harm houseplants?
Low-light plants that thrive in indirect sunlight or low-light conditions—will generally not be affected by window film. High-light plants, which require intense sunlight for photosynthesis, can benefit from a more carefully selected film. Window film that reduces heat and UV exposure, which may actually support healthier growth. While a higher-performance film blocks harmful UV rays and significantly reduces heat, it generally does not hinder the vital light plants need for photosynthesis.
Will window film make my home darker?
Window film comes in a wide range of shades, from nearly clear to darkly tinted. For those looking to block UV rays or heat without affecting the natural light in a space, there are options that provide significant protection without darkening your windows. If glare reduction is a concern, a specialized film designed to reduce brightness may be chosen, which will also maintain a comfortable light level in the room.
