Private Residence, Lake View

  • Challenge: The homeowner was facing several issues, including fading furniture and flooring due to sun exposure. Despite continuous use of air conditioning, certain rooms remained uncomfortably warm during the summer. Additionally, the extensive glass in the home made the client feel exposed, as though they were in a fishbowl when viewed from the street.
  • Solution: We applied 3M Night Vision 35 window film (interior application) throughout the home. This film was specifically chosen to block 99.9% of harmful UV rays while allowing as much natural light as possible. It offers effective daytime privacy without creating an overly reflective appearance. The consistent application of the film enhances the home’s aesthetic, providing the sophisticated, factory-tinted look of high-end windows.
Oliver, BC

Red Barn Winery

  • Challenge: The tasting room was experiencing excessive heat gain, creating an uncomfortable environment for guests, especially those seated near the windows. With no additional window coverings in place, controlling glare and heat was essential.
  • Solution: We applied 3M Prestige 40 window film to the tasting room, lobby, and common areas. This film was chosen for its exceptional heat rejection and glare control, effectively managing sunlight while maintaining the natural ambiance of the space—similar to the way sunglasses protect your eyes from glare.
Kamloops, BC

Thompson Rivers University

  • Challenge: The Early Childhood Education building became uncomfortably hot during the summer, causing students to avoid the study areas due to excessive heat and glare.
  • Solution: We applied 3M Prestige 20x window film to the exterior of the building. This film was chosen for its outstanding ability to reduce solar heat gain, its non-reflective appearance, which the client preferred, and the added benefit of easier installation from the exterior. The result was a more comfortable and inviting environment for students.

UBC Okanagan

  • Challenge: The Arts building was overheating during the summer, causing students to avoid the study hall due to excessive heat and glare.
  • Solution: We applied 3M Prestige 70x window film to the exterior of the building. This film was selected for its clear, non-reflective appearance, outstanding performance, and 10-year warranty. Additionally, installing the film from the exterior allowed us to complete the project without disrupting the study hall or requiring equipment indoors, ensuring minimal disruption to the university’s daily operations.

Wolseley Plumbing/HVAC

  • Challenge: The warehouse roof featured 18 large acrylic skylights that allowed in excessive heat. Due to the skylights’ non-flat surface, conventional window film could not be used.
  • Solution: We installed sun control fabric mesh to the skylights, effectively reducing over 80% of solar heat gain and helping to maintain a cooler, more comfortable environment within the warehouse.
